You will be assigned to the Corporate Legal Team in Legal and learn what it is like to practice law in a dynamic and time limited in-house legal department.  There you will have the chance to work on a variety of legal issues with seasoned attorney from many different fields including bankruptcy, employment, patent, procurement, contracts, copyright, and corporate affairs.  Your day may include attending an important client meeting, doing legal research designed to help provide requested advice, or working on a project to help streamline the legal ramifications of a business objective.

 

Candidate should be a self- starter, willing to take on tasks as given with appropriate direction, have good time management skills and be willing to take on tasks as assigned for completion in a timely manner, and have good research and writing skill.

 

Job Responsibilities

  • Research and writing as assigned;
  • Attendance and participation in client meetings;
  • Assistance with various projects including but not limited to a document retention system for Human Resources, assistance with a contractor review process, streamlining of immigration materials on internal web-site, assistance in researching and redrafting various policies.;
  • Litigation Discovery support as needed.

Timeline

  • Applications: September 2017- February 2018
  • Interviews:     November 2017-April 2018 on a rolling basis.
  • Internship:     This is a year-round, part time internship opportunity. The ideal candidate would be able to work an average of 15-20 hours per week during the                                      academic  school year, and full time during the summer. We have a need for this internship to start as a soon as a possible.

What are we looking for?

  • Currently enrolled in an accredited law school seeking a Juris Doctor Degree in a US Based school.
  • Students must not be graduating prior to the beginning of the internship, and be enrolled to return to school after the internship ends.

What type of skills do we prefer?

 

Motivated Self Starters willing to take on projects as assigned and return them in a timely manner.  Proficient in Microsoft Word and Lexis.
