    The position


    The focus of this job is a hybrid of managing a team of 13 professional Pre Sales Consultants whilst also maintaining a set of accounts and your own Pre Sales accountabilities. The team is responsible for providing technical consultation on all SAS System products and solutions, and assisting in implementing identified sales initiatives. The team is responsible for creating and maintaining sales support best practices to drive new sales revenues.


    The work involves driving toward results by enrolling the commitment and buy-in of others. While the job requires strong initiative and self-direction, results are only achieved with and through people.


    A sincere appreciation for people and how they are each uniquely motivated is the foundation for designing and implementing interactive communication and decision-making processes.


    Knowledge and skill in how to successfully influence and persuade others by understanding how their individual needs and motivations link to goals is essential. The job requires a high degree of "selling", whether of ideas and policies within the organization, or products or services in the marketplace.

    The job environment is fast paced and results oriented. While there is urgency to goal achievement, responsibility for the achievement of results needs to be shared and effectively delegated when necessary. Initiating projects and processes beyond established organization practices will often require training and developing others, and enlisting their support by using a "selling" rather "telling" communication style.


    Primary Responsibilities


    • Directly manage day to day activities of 13 Systems Engineers staff and sales support activities.
    • Determine optimal utilization of staff and resources to achieve sales goals.
    • Responsible for delivery of high-level technology-oriented messages to customers in sales engagements.
    • Provide overall leadership on initiatives and projects; coordinates with other business units.
    • Ensure adherence to policy in all sales plans and strategies.
    • Assist and identify key accounts and determine strategies to maximize revenue.
    • Make decisions for team in support of regional goals and objectives; referring to upper management on major issues.
    • Analyze cost of technical sales support.
    • Support and reinforces best practices, with heavy emphasis on sales methodologies.

    In general, the core of this position requires a motivated and motivating team manager, builder and organization developer.




    • 8+ years proven background in Technical sale role or Pre Sales capacity
    • Five years 1st line management experience
    • Pre Sales background in Software – Information Management, Business Intelligence, Business Analytics

    The team:


    You will be managing a team of 13 very competent and long standing Pre Sales people. The Sydney branch is around 90 people and you will be working with the State Sales Manager and Consulting Manager to ensure all areas operates effectively to reach our customer goals.
