Technical Enablement Academy - Associate Systems Technical Support Engineer

SAS believes in the whole employee experience. Meaningful work. Empowerment to make a difference that changes people’s lives. Dynamic work environments that foster innovation. And an award-winning culture that makes it all possible. We believe great ideas can come from anywhere. We build software for the world's most talented thinkers. That means we need to push boundaries daily. At SAS, you’ll be encouraged to use your imagination and constantly try new things.

On day one, you will be a valued part of our Technical Support team.  You will collaborate with some of the best minds in Technical Support and will be mentored by people who have a passion to share their knowledge.  You will never stop learning and will be encouraged to bring your best to work every day.

To prepare you for this, you’ll attend an 18-week technical training program in Cary, North Carolina. In addition to providing soft skills training, the Technical Support Academy provides training in core SAS technology areas. You’ll receive the tools necessary to enable you to provide support for enterprise-class SAS software applications and/or solutions, and at the end of the program, you will have the opportunity to achieve no less than six professional SAS certifications.  On completion of your training you will return to our UK&I Headoffice in Marlow Buckinghamshire, where you will start your career within our Technical Support team, supporting our customers on our Data Analytics solutions around the World.

Here’s what we’re looking for. Could this be you?

    • Passionate problem solver.
    • Deeply curious about technology and how things work.
    • Highly creative, with excellent research skills.
    • Ready to tackle difficult challenges.
    • Service-minded and able to deliver excellent customer service with confidence.
    • Willing to ask for help and share knowledge.

Our promise to you:  You will want to run—not walk—to work every day!

We'll expect you to have these essential qualifications:

    • Bachelors or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Mathematics, Data Analytics, or a related technical field.
    • Graduating no later than June 2019.
    • Experienced with C, Java, Python, SAS or programming in a third or fourth generation language.
    • Have a real passion for collaborating with colleagues to build technical solutions to solve tough problems.
    • You need to be strong in at least one of the following operating systems: Windows, UNIX or LINUX.
    • Work or academic experience in technology areas such as business application development, client/server, data warehousing, database management systems, data presentation and visualization, or web applications and services.
    • Have a real passion for software support, as demonstrated by previous internships, work experience, projects, or publications.
    • Last but not least, you need to be articulate. That means write an email with perfect spelling and grammar, be able to speak confidently and politely, and be a rock star when it comes to being able to summarise complex solutions to customers in plain, readable English.

This position is located in our UKI Headoffice in Marlow, with the 18 week training course being held in Cary, North Carolina, USA.
