    About the role:

     

    The role is based in the Pune R&D Center, at SAS R&D Pune facility. For this role, you will join the Analytics Testing Team within the Software Solutions Group. We are looking for the Analytics Testers who’d be verify for numerical accuracy of the SAS Solutions developed for Retail industry.  You should be able to independently responsible for developing test suites for verifying the business algorithms in retail to solve business problems such as allocations and fulfillment.  You’d be developing automated test suites in SAS language also create the relevant test data created for testing the numerical accuracy of the solution.

    Furthermore, you will be joining a friendly team with a broad range of experience.

     

    Essential Technology Experience:

    • Good statistical programming skills – preferably SAS, including macro and analytical procedures or strong skills in another statistical programming language – SAS, R, Python, SPSS etc
    • Knowledge or coursework in statistics, time series forecasting, clustering/segmentation, machine learning, predictive analytics, etc.
    • Knowledge of Operations research and Optimization
    • Master’s degree in Statistics, Econometrics, Operations Research,  Data Science / Data Analytics, or another quantitative field

     

    Experience of these items would be useful:

    • Exposure to working in software development or testing area would be desirable
    • Experience in Software Testing is desirable
    • Excellent and willingness to learn new concepts, tools and approaches
    • Experience applying creative approaches to efficiently solve testing or programming problems.
    • Excellent Oral and written communication skills
    • Proven analytical problem-solving skills
    • Excellent teamwork and ability to work closely with remote and local development teams

    Primary Responsibilities

    • The candidate’s duties include programmatic validation of statistical and analytical algorithms developed with SAS software to support of Retail solutions for Allocation/fulfillment   and Other products within the Software Solutions Group;
    • Writing repeatable test-ware using SAS-specific testing frameworks;
    • Reporting defects in the software and tracking to closure
    • Developing and executing of tests suites related to business logic of the solutions as required.
    • Collaboration with other members of the development and testing teams with an understanding of the business requirements;
    • Advising, assisting, and providing documentation and technical publications for external and internal customers
    • Performing other duties as assigned.

    CANDIDATE PROFILE

    Background and Experience

    SAS is seeking a statistician with an experience of 2 to 7 years of work experience. The candidate should have successful track record of working with statistical programming tools such as SAS, R, SPSS etc., preferably in software development teams. Candidate should have aptitude to work as a software quality engineer and should have excellent verbal and written communication skills.
