    SAS is embarking on hiring a new generation of Customer Advisory people locally and globally. This new generation are not the traditional SAS mould - but change agents, leaders and advisors to take SAS’ next generation platform Viya and AI applications to new and existing customers.  Our customers are asking us to lead and advise - way beyond to traditional role of a software vendor.

    SAS’ new Viya platform expands on SAS’ market leading capability to add capabilities such as AI and Machine Learning – but also embraces open source and a new, open micro-services, cloud-first architecture. 


    In addition, SAS has developed specialist risk platforms covering credit risk, enterprise stress testing/expected credit loss, IRFS9, IFR17 and the mechanics of model risk management. #LI-NE1


    SAS is now looking for a (Senior) Customer Advisory Risk Consultant to provide leadership and domain expertise to influence new customer engagements in Risk.  To be effective in this role, you will already have a demonstrated credibility and experience in areas such as credit risk or enterprise risk (e.g. IFRS9, IFRS17).


    The Customer Advisory Team is typically the first team on the ground to support the sales team.


    You don’t have to know SAS – in fact, an open mind and an “open source” skills set is beneficial for SAS’ new platforms.  SAS is also a great investor in people, so we ensure you get the best training to fill any gaps in knowledge you have.


    You will be expected to participate and/or lead customer engagements with both business and IT, relate risk modelling concepts to customers and fit SAS’ end-to-end capabilities to within the customer’s current ecosystem.  SAS has technical architects who can help with the plumbing and infrastructure.

    Primary Responsibilities

    • Works with customers (and the wider SAS team) to define and demonstrate how successful business outcomes can be achieved through best practice in risk modelling
    • Proactively engages and builds trusted relationships with customers, partners and the wider SAS team such that they can leverage your risk domain expertise
    • Delivers standard, customised and/or strategic solution demonstrations and presentations outlining the functional capabilities, competitive advantages and business benefits of SAS Solutions offerings as they apply to client needs
    • Learns and embraces the SAS technology and solutions – as well as open source – for knowledge sharing and demonstration purposes
    • Helps educate the sales and marketing team and communicates knowledge to other non‐technical sales functions to empower them to position and support SAS solutions
    • Works closely with regional and global SAS community to leverage best practices
    • Proactively works with sales and marketing to create propositions for customers on how better risk methodologies can improve or transform their organisation

    To be successful in this role you will require:

    • Knowledge and experience in one or more of risk modellings such as credit risk modelling, enterprise stress testing or enterprise programmes such as IFRS9 and IFR17
    • Knowledge the risk modelling lifecycle (from data preparation, to model training, to production etc.)
    • Familiar with data preparation and visualisation technologies and techniques
    • Have hands on experience of risk modelling in technologies such as e.g. R, Python, SAS, SPSS etc.
    • Excellent problem solving, written, oral and interpersonal skills. 
    • 2+ (4+ for senior) years of experience in experience in risk modelling roles within industry or consultancy organisations
    • Ability to constantly be learning new technologies, techniques and capabilities in an ever-changing industry
    • Bachelor's degree or other quantitative field related to area of assignment
