What you’ll do  

As a Software Developer at SAS R&D Scotland, you will join the intelligence and investigation management team who build intelligence software for Police and Public Security.  With customers across the globe, you will have the opportunity experience the full development cycle, from design to implementation.  The teams' members provide a broad range of experience with a friendly atmosphere.

The role is based in the centre of Glasgow, at SAS R&D Scotland’s facility.   IOT, Streaming Analytics, Data Management, Fraud & Security, Intelligence Management and Mobile Security are just a few of the exciting global applications and technologies that the Glasgow R&D team are actively working on.

We are at an exciting time in our evolution as we transition to running in cloud environments and adopting a CI/CD mindset. You will join us on that journey and help us to shape our future for continued success. 

Essential:

• Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Software Engineering, Computer Science, or a related discipline.
• Web UI development experience (particularly Angular).
• Great problem-solving skills combined with the ability and drive to deliver high quality software.
• Strong written and verbal English language communication skills.
• Good knowledge of current software industry trends and emerging technologies.
• Right to work in the UK
• You’re curious, passionate, authentic and accountable. These are our values and influence everything we do.

Experience of below would be useful:

• Unix experience
• Server\Cloud deployment experience
• Git or similar source management software
• Domain knowledge in policing.
