Are you a problem solver, explorer, and knowledge seeker – always asking, “What if?”

If so, then you may be the new team member we’re looking for. Because at SAS, your curiosity matters – whether you’re developing algorithms, creating customer experiences or answering critical questions. Curiosity is our code, and the opportunities here are endless.

What we do

We’re the leader in analytics. Through our software and services, we inspire customers around the world to transform data into intelligence. Our curiosity fuels innovation, pushing boundaries, challenging the status quo and changing the way we live.

What you’ll do

We’re looking for a Systems Architect to join our team here at SAS. Do you have a passion for helping customers leverage their software and infrastructure to achieve maximum business value?  If you are eager and passionate to learn, grow your skills, and immediately contribute to the technology experience of SAS customers, this role might be for you!

You will:
As a member of the Applied Architecture and Technology team you will have a direct impact on both the current and future success of assigned customers on their SAS software journey.  You will do this by “rolling up your sleeves” to resolve current issues, map a course for additional and future software adoption and remove any roadblocks that hinder that adoption.

What we’re looking for

  • Be “the expert” for the assigned customers on how the current SAS technology is being used and enabling efficient new SAS software adoption.
  • Partner with other SAS groups, ex. Engineering, Technical Support, Consulting, etc., to deliver the best customer experience possible as it relates to implementing, using and operating SAS software.
  • Working directly with Engineering, provide customer-based feedback to enhance the software.
  • Resolving escalated customer issues, either through direct resolution or streamlining the process of resolution with the appropriate subject matter expert.
  • Propose, update and review customer architectures and designs.  Provide feedback and mapping to Engineering architecture efforts
  • Define and execute proof points based on direct customer scenarios around performance, scalability, functional and operations goals
  • Work directly with the customer (ranging from admin to sr architect to director to executive) and/or SAS Professional Services during customer implementation
  • Creation of tools and papers to simplify and enhance the customer experience and to enable future self-service

The nice to haves

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, related field or equivalent experience
  • A minimum of 5+ years of experience in multiple software technologies and domains
  • Ability to work constructively and collaboratively across independent SAS teams and divisions
  • Significant experience with implementing and operationalizing SAS 9 and SAS Viya
  • Significant experience with cloud native infrastructure technologies across multiple cloud providers
  • Advanced experience and competency in optimizing applications within Kubernetes environments
  • Advanced ability to “go deep”, ex. write code, log diving, etc. while also being able to “take it up a level” based on audience
  • Ability to thrive within an independent and collaborative working environment

  • We love living the #SASlife and believe that happy, healthy people have a passion for life, and bring that energy to work. No matter what your specialty or where you are in the world, your unique contributions will make a difference.
  • Our multi-dimensional culture blends our different backgrounds, experiences, and perspectives. Here, it isn’t about fitting into our culture, it’s about adding to it - and we can’t wait to see what you’ll bring.
