About the job

The Analytics Center of Excellence (COE) team is looking for an AI Data Scientist. You will use state-of-art advanced analytics software to design, build and implement innovative solutions for our life science and biotechnology industry customers. You will support customer use case discovery and will contribute to life science analytics strategy for SAS innovation. You will work closely with customers, software developers, account executives and pre-sales support professionals to meet the need of SAS customers. You will work collaborate with R&D and product management teams to improve SAS solutions and analytical products based on customer project experience.

Our team, Analytics Center of Excellence (COE), within SAS R&D leads the design, development, and implementation of machine learning solutions for SAS customers across many industries such as life science, biotechnology, CPG, manufacturing among others.

 

As a Data Scientist, you will

  • Design, build, and implement pioneering solutions for our life science and biotechnology customers.
  • Support the discovery of customer use cases and contribute actively to SAS's life science analytics strategies.
  • Engage closely with customers, software developers, account executives, and pre-sales support teams, ensuring that SAS customers' needs are always met,
  • Collaborate with fellow data scientists in developing Machine Learning models to address SAS clients' business challenges.
  • Create and present demos showcasing the capabilities of machine learning in resolving life science and biotech challenges.
  • Work alongside our R&D and product management units to refine SAS solutions and analytical tools, drawing from your experiences with customer projects.

Required Qualifications:

  • PhD or Masters with equivalent experience in Biostatistics, Bioinformatics, Computer Science, or a related discipline.
  • Proficient programming skills, especially in Python and/or SAS.
  • Demonstrated experience in machine learning, statistics, and deep learning techniques applied to HLS applications.
  • Stellar presentation skills to diverse audiences, from C-level executives to technical teams.
  • Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Proven problem-solving prowess.
  • Ability to thrive in both team and solo settings.
  • Equivalent combination of education, training and experience may be considered in place of the above qualifications.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 1 year in the life sciences industry.
  • Familiarity with SAS software.
  • Experience with deep learning frameworks such as PyTorch or TensorFlow.
