About the job

The Analytics Center of Excellence (COE) team is looking for a passionate AI Data Scientist. You will drive solution development, solution testing, and implementation of SAS customer projects involving artificial intelligence, computer vision and machine learning. You will support customer use case discovery and will contribute to computer vision strategy for SAS innovation. You will work closely with customers, software developers, account executives and pre-sales support professionals to meet the need of SAS customers. You will collaborate with R&D and product management teams to improve SAS solutions and analytical products based on customer project experience.

You should have a strong passion for solving SAS customer problems and enjoy spending your time and effort on sharpening your skills and extending your knowledge. Our team, Analytics Center of Excellence (COE), nestled within SAS R&D, leads the design, development, and implementation of machine learning solutions for SAS customers across many industries such as manufacturing, CPG, retail, life science among others.

 As a Data Scientist, you will:

• Drive the development, testing, and implementation of AI-centric SAS projects.
• Spearhead customer use-case identification and contribute to the computer vision strategy.
• Foster strong collaborations with customers, software developers, account executives, and pre-sales support to address SAS customer requirements.
• Partner with our R&D and product management teams to refine SAS analytical offerings, drawing insights from customer projects.

 Required Qualifications:

• Master/PhD in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related STEM field.
• Proficient programming skills, especially in Python and/or SAS.
• Solid experience in deep learning or its industry applications.
• Stellar presentation skills to diverse audiences, from C-level executives to technical teams.
• Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Proven problem-solving prowess.
• Ability to thrive in both team and solo settings.
• Equivalent combination of education, training and experience may be considered in place of the above qualifications.

 Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with PyTorch or TensorFlow.
• Expertise in image processing.
• Previous experience with SAS software.
• Hands-on experience with real-time deployment, notably Nvidia CUDA Toolkit.
• Knowledge of containers, Kubernetes, Linux, and batch scripting.
• Prior experience in customer-facing roles.
