About the job  

We’re looking for a Presales to join our Customer Advisory organization in the UK which focuses on our banking clients. We offer a fixed term contract until the summer 2024 as we cover a maternity leave. Our mission is to make banking simple, safe and rewarding for everyone. The retail banking ecosystem is transforming, and intelligence is at the heart of succeeding in the new ecosystem.  We help our customers apply data and analytics in innovative ways so they can meet their customers’ needs as well as gain competitive advantage. The team brings together disciplines across data engineering, analytics, decision science and cloud computing.

This role will allow you to combine technology skills with a consulting mindset and domain best practice to solve some of our customers’ most challenging problems. This is a highly customer facing role and you will build trusted relationships with customers and prospects, helping them understand how SAS will add value to their business and supporting the adoption of new technology.

 

As a Presales  (FSI Team), you will  

  • Be an expert in your customers, understanding their business and the industry trends that affect them, be their trusted advisor for all things analytics.
  • Develop and maintain an in-depth knowledge of SAS technology and solutions.
  • Comfortably and confidently position (and demonstrate) SAS and its solutions to customers and prospects; scope and lead POC and POV activities.
  • Support account executives with account planning, opportunity qualification, workshops, solution design and positioning, crafting proposals and bid responses and taking ownership of technical elements.
  • Be an analytical or technology SME – develop thought leadership that helps build the SAS brand.
  • Nurture and maintain close working relationships across SAS and our partner network.

 

Required qualifications

  • A curious mind with good probing and questioning skills to uncover customer challenges and understand business processes. The ability to articulate where and how technology solutions can address these.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills coupled with analytical and problem-solving abilities and comfortable working at both "C" level and with SAS users.
  • Good understanding and experience of the retail banking sector.
  • An understanding of the analytical process and techniques. Beneficial to have experience in SAS, SQL or analytics open source software (R, python, Spark).
  • Experience in leading / supporting technology solution design which results in new software, SaaS or cloud revenue.
  • Good understanding of the fundamentals of cloud computing and digital transformation.
  • Degree in a technical or numerate subject e.g. mathematics, statistics, sciences, engineering or computer science.
  • You’re curious, passionate, authentic and accountable. These are ourvalues and influence everything we do.
  • Fluency in English.
