About the job

The Cloud team is looking for a Cloud Engineer to join SAS’s Cloud and Information Services division, you will be responsible for all aspects of our data management systems in SAS Cloud.

As a Cloud Engineer, you will have a fantastic opportunity to join a growing organisation and have ownership and support of the engineering team within SAS Cloud. You will be responsible for a vital function some devops solutions with some ETL aspects.

As an Cloud Engineer, you will:

• Analyse current process for client systems and support error troubleshooting through runbook
• Update/develop related procedures and documentation
• Multi-tasking in a hosting and production support driven environment
• Ability to diagnose and resolve problems in a timely fashion
• Work close with another SAS Cloud teams
• Manage, monitor, and maintain container-based applications deployed in cloud container services.
• Responsible for fixing and testing solutions to production issues to the SAS applications for each customer and verify that the customers are satisfied with the outcome
• Configure, manage, monitor, and debug mid-tier software. 

Additional responsibilities may include: 

• Serve as technical escalation support other team members.
• Contribute to overall service quality by identifying and /or improve the customer experience with SAS Cloud services.

Required qualifications

• At least 5 years of experience working as an software or devops engineer
• Bachelor's degree preferably in Business, Computer Science, or related field.
• Proficiency in Unix, Linux and
• Cloud experience (preferred Azure), AWS or GCP
• Coding languages: Python
• Experience testing, supporting and automating jobs
• Experience working in the Dev/Ops function
• Good understanding of ETL process and tools
• At least Knowledge of  Kubernetes, Docker, experience preferred
• Familiarity with CI/CD
• Nice to know Airflow or similar tool
• An equivalent combination of related education, training and experience may be considered in place of the above qualifications.

Candidate who fills this role must pass UK Security Clearance and need to be able to support internal and/or external customers with contracts that require UK citizenship.
