Nice to meet you!

We’re a leader in data and AI. Through our software and services, we inspire customers around the world to transform data into intelligence - and questions into answers.

We’re also a debt-free multi-billion-dollar organization on our path to IPO-readiness. If you're looking for a dynamic, fulfilling career coupled with flexibility and world-class employee experience, you'll find it here.

About the job

The Customer Advisory team is looking for an enthusiastic and proactive Sr. Presales Engineer who excels in creating and maintaining close partnerships with customers. Who can drive these partnerships forward with an innovating mindset by creating shared goals to solve complex problems and create value through the deployment of data and analytical solutions. The Custumer Advisory team is expanding the Commercial Sector Business Unit and are seeking an advisor with strong drive, a curious mind and experience of working in the Manufacturing Industry.

As a Sr. Presales Engineer, you will:

  • Be an advisor to your clients, providing guidance on how organisations in the Manufacturing Industry can create business value and support their goals using data and deployment of analytical solutions.
  • Act as the primary technical contact between the client and SAS, translating client business needs to value-generating solutions based on SAS products (software and cloud) and associated services.
  • Define and execute the technical strategy for the manufacturing accounts, working independently from, but in alignment and close partnership with, the account executive and wider engagement team. Potentially, drive and define the overall strategy for the manufacturing sector across the account teams and in collaboration with sales, marketing and wider team.
  • Provide technical and pre-sales leadership to new business opportunities, engaging with technical and business audiences – defining and owning the technical engagement plan. Engagements will primarily be with Manufacturing organisations in the Nordics, and potentially UK.
  • Be responsible for dealing with complex customer situations using knowledge of industry standards, SAS solutions and the customer’s technology landscape to help deliver win-win outcomes for both the customer and SAS.
  • Deliver a high-quality, high-impact customer experience and to demonstrate SAS’ value through presentations, discussions, bids and POC/POVs.
  • Use domain (technical and industry) knowledge to create a compelling vision to influence all stakeholders in formal and informal meetings. Adapt assets and presentations to suit the audience including being able to build trust and negotiation objections - internal and external

Required Qualifications

  • 5 years + experience working in the manufacturing industry.
  • Bachelor's degree, preferably in Engineering, Business, Computer Science, or other quantitative field related to area of assignment.

  • Understand the role and relationships of manufacturing value chain functions such as: Inbound Logistics, Operations, Outbound Logistics, Marketing & Sales & Service
  • Understand job roles/personas, their responsibilities and relationships in manufacturing processes. E.g. What does Plant Manager, Production Manager, Supply/Demand Planner, Quality Engineer, R&D Engineer, Service Manager etc. do?
  • Understand the role and relationships of operational IT systems in industrial automation such as PLC, SCADA, MES, ERP & CRM
  • Understand the principles of Industry4.0 framework: how intelligent digital technologies like IoT, Edge Computing, AI, Streaming Data, Digital Twins & Computer Vision are integrated into manufacturing and industrial processes
  • Ideally understand and have experience on business solutions that are built around the technologies mentioned above, including ESG Analytics & Reporting, Asset Performance, Production Quality, Field Quality / Aftermarket, Supply Chain Management, Demand Forecasting, Inventory Optimization & Procurement Integrity
  • Fluent in one or more Nordic languages and English.
  • You’re curious, passionate, authentic and accountable. These are our values and influence everything we do.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Preferably experience in driving software sales opportunities, both as technical lead and managing customer relationships.
