Within our EMEA/ APAC-wide Internship Program CareerStart@sas we’re offering a 6-month full-time internship in our Professional Services Department as technical consultant intern in our Lisbon office.

About the job 

The Solution Consultant has a very central role in the planning, design and implementation of solutions using SAS Technologies to address business challenges. SAS is a leader in providing advanced solutions to areas like Risk and Fraud in several types of organizations including financial services like banking and insurance and also retail, manufacturing, healthcare government and more. A Solution Consultant collaborates with clients and internal teams to understand requirements and translate them to technical solutions. 

As a Functional/Solution intern, you might:

• Understand, utilize and communicate best practice methodologies and industry standards with both internal teams and external clients.
• Deliver targeted project results as an expert in the application of specific SAS methodologies, projects and technologies
• Apply the expertise you will gain to provide deep knowledge and experience with SAS Solutions including solution configuration, solution functionality and troubleshooting.
• Map customer requirements and solution design to SAS solutions using different tools, techniques and interfaces.
• Utilize detailed technical and functional knowledge to support sales opportunities and implementations across solution domains, including assisting with Proof of Concept (PoC) development and solution demonstrations.
• Contribute to the development of detailed documentation, including requirements mapping to solutions, design specifications, use cases, strategies and user guides.
• Continuously expand your knowledge of SAS technologies, products, and solutions by participating in ongoing training and enablement activities. SAS provides a rich environment where a consultant’s career can evolve into various areas and roles, including Management and Project Management.

Required Qualifications 

• You’re a student currently enrolled in the final year of a bachelors or masters degree program.
• Target majors include all the STEM faculties, Computer Science, Engineering and Statistics and also Digital Technologies Management and Economics.
• You’re curious, passionate, authentic, and accountable. These are our values and influence everything we do.
• Strong communication skills – both written and verbal English is key.
• You’re interested in the future of Analytics and embrace technology.

Preferred Qualifications 

Basic knowledge of Python, R, SQL and SAS is preferred.   

CareerStart program date and location: Tentatively April 1 – September 30 (Dates can change slightly due to academic calendars.). Our role is based in SAS Lisbon office in a hybrid work setting.
