About the job

We’re looking for a Systems Engineer to provide technical assistance for software pre-sale and post-sale activities utilizing your knowledge of one or more areas of research, development, or production in conjunction with data analysis methods and know-how. You will collaborate with a team of colleagues to help scientists and engineers working in research, development or production understand how data analytics can better inform their decisions and save them time.

 

As a Systems Engineer, you will:

 

  • Build trusted relationships with potential and existing users of JMP by providing guidance and support in data analysis and experimental design, ensuring user value and success.
  • Deliver standard, customized and/or strategic demonstrations/presentations outlining the proposed software functional capabilities, competitive advantages, and user impact.
  • Work with sales staff to outline available products and develop opportunities for broader and deeper user of JMP.
  • Develop insight regarding user situation, problem and needs, with the intent of developing mutually beneficial long-term relationships.
  • Maintain and develop relevant knowledge levels of technical and industry trends in order to identify impacts and opportunities created by these trends.
  • Conduct discovery meetings to collect, clarify and document technical and business requirements during the conversations with users and potential users.
  • Apply knowledge of JMP products and solutions with users and potential users.
  • Work with your team to identify ways of supporting users and potential users to enable broader and deeper use of JMP.
  • Provide timely follow up of commitments made.
  • Maintain and advance your knowledge in JMP System tools.
  • Show leadership in a chosen technology area.
  • Assist in training of staff.
  • Provide demonstration and business development support at vendor-sponsored events, trade shows, and user group meetings.

 

Required Qualifications

 

  • Bachleors degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics/Statistics 
  • 2+years of experience in technical sales, marketing, technical support, information systems, or related area of expertise
  • JMP is flexible regarding employee location. Ideally located close to Heldelberg, Munich, or Frankfurt with flexibility to work from a home office if needed.
  • Knowledge of research, or development, or production in a process industry (e.g. Chemical, Pharmaceutical, Biotechnology, Consumer Goods, Semiconductor, High Technology).
  • Experience of applying statistical methods or design of experiments to help increase understanding of research, development, or production problems.
  • Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication and presentation skills.
  • Ability to relate technical concepts to JMP applications and user needs.
  • Ability to work and learn independently and as part of a team.
  • Travel as business requirements dictate.
  • Fluency in English and German
  • Equivalent combination of education, training and experience may be considered in place of the above qualifications.
