About the job

 

Our successful Customer Advisory (presales) division is looking for a Presales Advisor with experience in the Financial Services industry to join our expanding DACH team, specialising in fraud and financial crime advisory. In this role, you'll collaborate with the broader account teams to deliver advisory for presales activities, leveraging your industry expertise to highlight the business and technical value of our solutions. You'll have the chance to engage with leading industry companies throughout the opportunity lifecycle, focusing on building trusted relationships with key business and IT stakeholders. Your advisory role will encompass technology insights and solution best practices in the areas of Fraud & Financial Crime, (Payments Fraud, Identity Fraud, Application Fraud, Insurance Claims Fraud, Anti-Money Laundering, and Sanctions Screening, etc). This is a hybrid role based in Germany (Heidelberg, Frankfurt, Berlin, Munich, Hamburg), involving travel across the DACH region (20% of the time)

 

As a Presales Advisor, you will:

 

 

  • Support SAS’s growth in fraud and financial crime across German-speaking countries.
  • Drive opportunities by crafting tailored presentations, workshops, demonstrations, and RFP responses.
  • Strategize with the sales team on customer meeting objectives, aligning activities with the overall sales plan.
  • Stay updated on technical and industry trends to identify impacts and opportunities.
  • Evaluate customer fraud & financial crime programs and advise on strategic roadmaps to leverage next-generation technology.
  • Collaborate with experts (business advisors, solution experts, architects, delivery managers) for optimal customer experience.
  • Expand your network by attending and presenting at industry conferences.
  • Design reusable assets like advisory materials, fraud assessments, and accelerators.
  • Develop and implement demos or PoCs using SAS software.
  • Participate in training to maintain in-depth knowledge of SAS offerings.
  • Support partner development and enablement, along with partnered sales opportunities.
  • Promote best practices and thought leadership within the global SAS Fraud community, focusing on domain expertise and emerging trend

Required qualifications:

 

  • Proven experience in either presales or technical roles within the technology or consulting sectors, specialising in fraud and financial crime.
  • Master's degree in Business, Computer Science, Mathematics, or a related quantitative field preferred; equivalent education and experience considered.
  • Experience in fraud through presales, sales engineering, or consulting on fraud implementations, or as a practitioner; certifications like ACFE or ACAMS are a plus.
  • Strong business acumen and exceptional interpersonal skills, with proven client-facing experience at all organizational levels.
  • Ability to engage with diverse profiles, including sales, technical, and industry experts.
  • Adaptable learner with proficiency in various technologies and analytical techniques.
  • Background in Financial Services is essential.
  • Fluent in English and German is required.
