We are looking for a Technical Data Consultant to be responsible for the design, development, enhancement and support of Data Warehouse Extract/ Transform/Load applications. The ideal candidate for this position should possess analytical and problem-solving skills in the areas of data capture and integration and possess attention to detail and good communication skills. You will provide consulting and implementation services including requirements gathering, analysis, solution development, knowledge transfer and project closeout both off and on customer site and ensure the high levels of customer satisfaction.

 

Required Qualifications:

  • New Zealand Citizen (due to client requirements)
  • Bachelor’s degree preferably in Business, Computer Science or related field
  • 2 years relevant working experience with an in-depth knowledge of data warehousing concepts and technologies. (New graduates welcome with internship experience)
  • Knowledgeable in designing and developing the ETL processes. Must have experience in design, development, and implementation of DW/BI solutions (DI Studio, DataStage, Wherescape RED, Informatica)
  • Data Modelling Knowledge, preferably dimensional modelling, including Data lake concepts
  • SQL Knowledge

 

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Comfortable in Unix/Linux
  • Cloud platform knowledge (e.g. AWS, Azure)
  • Solution Implementation experience
  • Well developed written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong teamwork and client service skills.

 

Role and Responsibility:

  • Provide your knowledge in data management (including data warehousing and ETL) to on-going project implementation and consulting.
  • Perform ETL development activities using SAS Data Integration, DataStage, Wherescape RED, Informatica, PL/SQL, Oracle Database tuning, SQL tuning, etc.
  • Apply analytics techniques – machine learning, dimensional data modelling, data mining, etc.
  • Provide data analysis to support new project definition/design as well as to troubleshoot/resolve issues with existing subject areas.
  • Maintain a high volume, multi-terabyte data warehouse application.
  • Provide guidance to project teams, developers and other architects.
  • Conduct unit tests and assist in test preparations to ensure data integrity, data quality and program quality.
  • Provide project status and progress updates to Management team and work closely with Advisor, Business Analysts, and other Developers.
