SAS Customer Intelligence R&D division produces leading-edge solutions for multichannel marketing with advanced audience creation, targeting and activation. We are looking for a Sr Associate Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) to design, build, and support scalable automated test frameworks, tools, and test suites to ensure quality within expected timelines during the development cycle. 

As a Sr Associate Software Development Engineer in Test, you will:  

  • Design test suites for analytical models, including corner cases, bias detection, and stress testing.
  • Collaborate with data scientists to define test strategies for machine learning workflows.
  • Capitalize upon your creativity by developing innovative solutions to complex problems.
  • Work with your team to promptly triage test failures with precision and accuracy, maintaining the health of the build pipeline.
  • Work collaboratively with development, product, operations, and support peers to encourage quality.
  • Utilize observability and monitoring tools to proactively detect and remediate failures.
  • Experience with manual test case/test scenario development & execution.

Required qualifications  

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related quantitative field 
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience developing automated tests using Postman, Python, Selenium, or other modern frameworks. 
  • Experience applying statistical methods (e.g., hypothesis testing, regression, time series analysis) to validate analytical model outputs.
  • Understanding of A/B testing frameworks and interpreting experimental data.
  • Ability to design and execute tests that validate data transformations, aggregations, and analytical outputs.
  • Proficient with Git, or other source control management systems.
  • An equivalent combination of related education, training and experience may be considered in place of the above qualifications.

Preferred qualifications  

  • Familiarity with statistical tools such as SAS, or Python (with NumPy, SciPy, Pandas)
  • Familiarity with data quality metrics (e.g., completeness, consistency, accuracy, timeliness)
  • Familiarity with public cloud platforms, such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.
  • Familiarity with modern test automation frameworks like Playwright, Pytest, Selenium
