About the Job
The SAS Managed Cloud Services (MCS) organization in the Cloud and Information Services (CIS) division is looking for a MCS Global Offering & Architecture Leader responsible for setting, promoting, and managing the overall MCS Offering vision and roadmap. You will lead a group of dynamic and motivated offering and architecture professionals responsible for delivering new MCS market offers, services, and capabilities to accelerate SAS MCS business growth across SAS platforms and solutions, global markets and core sectors. You will be a trusted advisor to the Global VP of Managed Cloud Services and partner across SAS R&D, Sales, Technical Support, Professional Services, Customer Success, Marketing, Security, Compliance, Legal, CIS and Regional Market teams to drive a comprehensive, and cohesive go-forward motion for our MCS market offers. This leadership opportunity comes at a unique time when our MCS offers and capabilities are being transformed, driven by the introduction of the next-generation technology based on our Viya 4.0 platform and industry leading solutions across Finance, Life Sciences and Government sectors.
Key Responsibilities:
- MCS Offering Vision & Strategic Roadmap: Set, execute and publish the MCS offering portfolio vision and strategic roadmap aligned with SAS platforms and solutions, core sectors, ecosystem partners and regional market demands of today and for the future. Leverage, expand and articulate the unique business value and differentiation of our SAS MCS offering including our “home court advantage and proximity” to SAS R&D, TS, CS and PSD functions, white glove customer service through our Cloud Service Delivery Manager (CSDM) and Cloud Technical Leader (CTL) roles, and the size, scale and experience our MCS global team has in managing a 600+ customer global SAS fleet over the past 20 years. Deliver MCS offering portfolio vision, and strategic roadmap through briefings to constituents across SAS, our customers, press, analysts, at events, etc. providing deep domain expertise, and thought leadership resulting in internal and external MCS market momentum.
- MCS Offering & Strategic Architecture Team Leadership: Design, build and lead a high-performing and global MCS Offering and Architecture leadership and team focused on building, and managing our MCS offering portfolio and strategic architecture services. Shape and enable this team to be SAS Platform, Solution and Core Sector aligned to maximize MCS expertise across these focus areas and synergies with our R&D and Sector focused organizations. Select, develop, coach and evaluate team leadership and staff to achieve individual and team business objectives.
- MCS Offering Development & Market Launch: Collaborate with SAS Product Strategy Team and Product Development Lifecycle (PDLC) Process, Sales, Marketing, Sectors, and Markets to define and prioritize MCS requirements for expanded and new MCS offerings, services and capabilities to meet market demand. Ensure successful market launch directly or through SAS offering leaders and architects complete offering bill of materials including standard commercial pricing and packing, go-to-market collateral, sales and delivery enablement, and direct engagement on initial “opportunities to sales to delivery” to support sales and delivery teams through early deals.
- MCS Offering Performance Monitoring: Develop, monitor, analyze and report on business case and market performance results (signings, revenue, profit, etc.) for existing, new and expanded MCS offers using a data and KPI driven approach to provide objective MCS offering performance evaluation, lifecycle management and continuous improvement actions.
- Compliance & Governance: Ensure MCS offerings comply with relevant regional, global and sector regulations, standards, and best practices.
- Market Analysis: Lead market research and competitive analysis to identify trends, opportunities, and threats across managed cloud services, cloud platforms, data, AI and SAS MCS competitors.
- Customer & Market Engagement: Engage with SAS MCS customers, market leaders and MCS regional teams in strategic customer briefings, quarterly business reviews and other venues to drive market demand and solicit market feedback on MCS offerings.
- SAS & MCS Market Eminence: Evangelize SAS Managed Cloud Services benefits and opportunities by attending leadership team meetings, speaking at town halls and other events inside and outside CIS to build understanding and excitement about SAS Managed Cloud Services.
Required Qualifications
- Overall 18+ years of experience, including Software Product and/or Service Offering leadership experience in the software product or IT services industry.
- Demonstrated experience in one or more of the following: Managed Services, SaaS, or XaaS models in a go-to-market, and/or service delivery leadership role.
- Demonstrated knowledge of Hyperscale Cloud (Azure, AWS, GCP) platform, architecture and commercial principles such as core hyperscaler compute, storage, and network services, integrations, security, performance, and monitoring services.
- Bachelor’s Degree, preferably in Business, Marketing, Computer Science, or related discipline.
- Equivalent combination of education, training, and relevant experience may be considered in place of the requirements above.
- Proven ability to build relationships effectively with leaders across the organization, at the Director level and above.
- Prior experience with driving product/offering strategy, building business cases, revenue models, market enablement launch for new software products and service offerings.
- Strong analysis, negotiation, collaboration, facilitation, and presentation skills, including the ability to speak at an appropriate technical and business level for the audience.
Preferred Qualifications
- SAS product experience, specifically Viya 4, SAS 9, RF&C, and HLS/LSAF platforms and solutions
- Government, Financial Services or Life Sciences industry experience
- Foundational cloud certifications across one or more hyperscaler
- Demonstrated ability to lead complex software product/service offering definition and link features to customer value and outcomes
- Visual thinker who can present complex topics in a simple format for conversation
- Problem-solver who asks the right questions to get the best solution
- Influencer who is collaborative, transparent, and genuine
- High performing contributor who performs well under pressure and produces quality results
