The SAS Managed Cloud Services team is looking for an Cloud Implementation Project Manager to lead and deliver impactful projects. In this role, you will be responsible for all aspects of project management - from planning, budgeting, and coordination to implementation and successful delivery - ensuring every project aligns with SAS’s overall strategy, commitments, and goals. As a Cloud Implementation Project Manager, you will guide SAS cloud projects from contract signature through to successful transition to ongoing operations, maintaining a strong service-delivery focus and deep understanding of cloud (including SaaS) solutions.
- Oversee project finances: manage budget, track expenses, handle invoicing and receivables, and control costs to meet commitments while controlling spend.
- Capture and document customer hosting and business requirements to inform the delivery approach.
- Create and maintain detailed project plans; track progress, adjust resources/schedules/costs as needed to deliver on time, quality, and budget.
- Coordinate technical teams to build and configure customer environments accurately and efficiently.
- Manage scope, changes, and stakeholder expectations to keep the project aligned and on track. Follow clear Change Management processes.
- Provide regular status updates, progress reports, and proactive risk/issue communication to all stakeholders.
- Escalate issues quickly to protect commitments and reasonable customer expectations.
- Lead successful customer and Professional Services onboarding, then transition operational environments smoothly to the Cloud Services Delivery team.
- Drive upgrades and migrations for live/operational cloud environments.
- Ensure all applicable security policies and processes are followed to support the organization's secure software development goals.

Additional Responsibilities
- Analyze business needs, document requirements, and propose delivery strategies that support adoption and improve efficiency.
- Facilitate steering committees and resolve cross-team barriers, involving senior leadership when required.
- Build and sustain client relationships based on trust, partnership, and open communication.
- Support global customers and teams across time zones and cultures, with flexible hours as needed.
Required qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in business, marketing, computer science, or a related field.
- 5+ years in a customer-facing project management role, preferably managing cloud software implementations or deliveries.
- Proven experience leading full-cycle software projects in hosted/cloud environments, including migrations and transformations.
- Strong project management skills, including planning, budgeting, resource allocation, risk/issue management, and delivering to scope, schedule, and cost commitments.
- Excellent leadership abilities: able to guide teams, build consensus, manage multiple initiatives, and perform well under pressure while meeting deadlines.
- Outstanding communication skills - verbal, written, presentation, negotiation, and facilitation, able to translate complex technical/business concepts clearly to diverse audiences, including global peers and management (both English and Japanese language skills required).
- Solid analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills, with strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Proficiency with project management tools such as MS Project, JIRA, ServiceNow, or similar platforms.
- Willingness to work flexible hours to support global customers across time zones and cultures, and travel as business needs require.
- Equivalent combination of related education, training and experience may be considered in place of the above qualifications.
Additional competencies, knowledge and skills
- Current PMP certification (or equivalent project management credential).
- Experience with cloud platforms, particularly Microsoft Azure & AWS.
- Knowledge of software development life cycle (SDLC) and related methodologies.
- Background in accounting, financial analysis, or budget performance tracking.
