About the Role

AI Senior Customer Advisor – Public Sector

We are seeking a Pre-Sales Systems Engineer to join the Public Sector  Advisory team, supporting the South EMEA region.

You will provide both industry and technical expertise, helping customers leverage their data to drive meaningful business outcomes.
You will support customers across the entire analytics lifecycle—from data management, standardization, and exploration, to visualization, advanced statistical analysis, and machine learning.

You will partner with Account Executives, leveraging your subject-matter expertise in advanced SAS technology to drive new revenue opportunities and ultimately increase win rates.

 

For this role, we are looking for an expert in AI, Agentic AI, and analytics.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Build trusted advisor relationships with Account Executive teams and technical stakeholders to drive SAS adoption and advocacy
  • Apply your domain expertise and technical acumen, combined with a sales-driven mindset, to shape opportunities and educate customers on the value of SAS
  • Develop account strategies with Account Executives, including approaches to optimize customer engagements and generate new opportunities
  • Co-lead customer engagements as the technical expert, gathering business requirements, guiding technology selection, and supporting implementation planning
  • Develop and deliver customized presentations and demonstrations that clearly communicate value, functionality, and SAS competitive advantages
  • Build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, providing practical guidance and setting clear expectations to ensure customer success
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Sales, Marketing, Business Operations, the Global Technology Practice (GTP), Customer Success, Product Management, and R&D
  • Continuously build and maintain deep technical knowledge of SAS offerings and stay up to date with industry trends
  • Facilitate hands-on workshops, webinars, and enablement sessions focused on SAS technology and industry use cases

Must-Haves

  • 5+ years of relevant professional experience in AI and analytics across one or more domains
  • Ability to translate complex data and technical concepts into clear, business-oriented messaging
  • Strong presentation and public speaking skills, including delivering technical demonstrations and advisory support
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
  • Willingness to travel (10–25%, depending on business needs)
  • Fluency in English and Italian

Additional Preferred Qualifications

  • Degree in Analytics, Statistics, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related quantitative field (or equivalent experience)
  • Academic or applied experience in areas such as statistics, forecasting, predictive modeling, machine learning, natural language processing, and/or model interpretability
  • Experience in customer-facing roles
  • Experience in presales, sales engineering, or consulting roles
  • Experience with cloud-based technology deployments
