The Pre-Sales Solution Specialist works with Sales Executives in all phases of the sales cycle, providing the necessary business, functional and technical knowledge of SAS's fraud management and financial crimes capabilities & offerings, in order to drive and maximize sales revenue. This role will provide presales support for SAS’ Financial Crimes capabilities across the verticals the solution has applicability to – including banking, insurance, and public sector.
Based in Toronto, the role has a mandate to support fraud opportunities across the SAS Canada business. Primary focus and day-to-day activity will be supporting Canadian market activities, however the role reports into SAS’ Global Security Intelligence (SI) Practice. This aspect of the role includes participation and contribution in the Global Practice in such areas as: input to product management; field enablement; development and adaptation of IP and practices for use across SAS; and acting as a conduit from the Canadian field organization to the Global SI Practice.
The successful candidate’s responsibilities will include supporting the development of sales strategies for accounts, assistance in qualifying sales opportunities, driving the discovery of clients' issues, preparation and delivery of sales presentations and demonstrations (including the development and implementation of proof of concepts and prototypes), definition of potential solution architectures, development of value propositions and preparing and presenting written and verbal proposals.
Ongoing skills maintenance and development is also a requirement, both within the fraud management domain, with the relevant technologies, and with related business skills. Highly effective business and technical writing as well as presentation skills are required.
Analytically-related fraud experience is a must, and SAS experience would be an asset, as would be educational or experiential background in relevant subject matter and technology areas (e.g., data management, decisions support, business intelligence, Big Data).
The Solution Specialist also provides financial crimes –related knowledge transfer and mentorship to other SAS team members to advance their capabilities, including marketing, alliances, services, and sales resources. Solutions Specialists also work closely with customers and SAS Professional Services resources to ensure successful transition of the proposed solution and business value to implementation.
