About the role:

The role is based in the centre of Glasgow, at SAS R&D Scotland’s facility.  We are looking for Software Developers, who can play a major role on a key development project, building next generation software for the public security sector.

For this role, you will join the Data Management team. We are looking for a web developer to help develop the User Interface for our new Data Management Product. You will help plan and design work and take responsibility for large parts of the application. Furthermore, you will be joining a friendly team with a broad range of experience, so you will also help mentor and develop more junior members of the team.



  • Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Computer Science, or a related discipline
  • Good grasp of software development life cycles
  • Strong written and verbal English language communication skills.
  • Positive mindset
  • Expertise in using a web application development framework
  • Experience in leading a substantial technical project
  • Proficiency in build automation systems

Experience of these items would be useful:

  • Capable of repeatedly demonstrating good judgement in selecting methods and techniques for arriving at workable solutions.
  • Self-motivated and able to work under pressure.
  • Conscientious about attention to detail, allied with observational skills and inquisitive nature.
  • Knowledge of Typescript, CSS and CSS predecessors
  • Ability to use Git, Gerrit or other version control systems
  • Desire to work in an Agile development environment
  • Knowledge of Java, Spring, SpringBoot and web service development
