The ideal candidate will have experience selling technology solutions, and will be a proven problem solver who can take responsibility for managing a successful sales cycle for new and existing SAS customers. 


The Account Executive is responsible for direct sales into existing and prospective accounts as part of the Commercial Business Unit. The person is responsible for the profitable sales of the SAS portfolio of products including; Software, Cloud Analytics and professional services.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Aggressively prospect and close new customers
  • capitalize on market knowledge and contacts to uncover business opportunities 
  • Effectively advise and influence customers through consultative selling techniques 
  • Research the customer environment to be able to populate the business impact model 
  • Articulate the solution in terms of ROI to the customer 
  • Develops and manages schedule, milestones and action items throughout the sales cycle - from identification to implementation. 
  • Utilize team members including post-sale delivery professionals, pre-sale technical professionals, and management to achieve business objectives 
  • Proactively manages client and internal team expectations and demonstrates leadership in difficult situations.
  • Rely on excellent leadership and interpersonal skills to initiate and maintain executive-level interaction and customer satisfaction 
  • Develop new business opportunities and close new account business 



A successful candidate should be driven, creative, a self-starter and strategic thinker. The candidate must possess the ability to lead, advise and advocate for customers. 


Essential Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree, preferably in Business, Marketing, MIS, or other relevant discipline.
  • 3 to 5+ years field experience selling enterprise software & Professional Services. Some technical knowledge of hardware and software is necessary (other applicable knowledge would include ERP sales, Database sales, Marketing Automation, Big Data, Customer Intelligence sales). 
  • Demonstrated success in sales. Consistent overachievement making sales goals. 
  • Demonstrated success managing a complex sales cycle. 
  • Demonstrated success developing new account opportunities and creating a territory plan.

Equivalent combination of education, training, and relevant experience may be considered in place of the education requirement stated above.  


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous experience selling data warehouse, advanced analytics and business intelligence solutions.

Work Environment:


         A combination of independent work and team collaboration will be required. Travel up to 50% is also expected depending on the location of the candidate.
