By joining the SAS Education team as a Training Sales Consultant, you will be responsible for selling SAS Education and Training to our existing customers and being involved in early sales with new customers packaging training into their solution purchase. By selling SAS Training packages, you will be ensuring that customers and SAS users are skilled in SAS technologies to be able to get the most out of the solutions in the environments they are working in. 

This is a permanent opportunity within the SAS Education department. The SAS Education department provides public classroom training, private courses for groups which can be run on customer site or at a SAS training centre, onsite mentoring, eLearning products as well as globally recognised certifications. By providing training to customers and users, we are enabling the continued success of SAS solutions within our customers.


Reporting to the Manager for Customer Retention and Sales, the Training Sales Consultant role will have the following responsibilities:

  • Call and liaise with customers to understadnt their potential training needs
  • Build relationships with customer and internal stakeholders
  • Understand the customer requirements
  • Keep abreast of the new SAS Solutions coming up so you can best position the SAS Training that is available
  • sell training packages and solutions to customers for group training add ons and initial packaed sales
  • Document conversations and sales deals
  • Think innovatively and creatively for new approaches to the sale of SAS training

Essential experience

  • 3-5 years of experience in sales of training and education options within IT
  • Proven sales experience with a track record of closing sales
  • Requires a broad understanding of clients’ business/ industry issues, IT architecture and interrelationships between SAS’s marketplace are required
  • Good understanding of business issues relevant to site opportunities
  • Good time management, planning and organization skills and understanding of sales cycle management
  • Excellent time management and organisational skills
  • Strong sales aptitude and good grasp of the technology and its applications in one or more field
  • Excellent leadership/ development/ motivational skills with the ability to lead a team of sales professional to succeed
  • Excellent communication and presentation/ demonstration skills at “executive level”
  • Preferably with solution-selling background
  • Self-motivated, positive attitude
  • Ability to work effectively both autonomously and in a team.
