About the job

We are looking for a Full Stack software developer to join the Risk Engines R&D team within the SAS Risk Division, where you will leverage your analytical and computer science background to design and develop re-usable software components that are part of SAS Risk Solutions, to help banks and other financial institutions around the world quantify and manage financial risk in their organization.

As a Full Stack Software Developer, you will:

 

  • Participate in scoping, planning, and tracking work on complex software development projects.
  • Design, develop and execute high-quality, flexible, and scalable applications, frameworks, and tools in support of a variety of development activities including those needed for continuous deployment pipeline.
  • Ensure quality by creating and supporting automated tests with extensive code coverage.
  • Write clean, maintainable, and efficient code following best practices and coding standards.
  • Maintain accountability for the entire life cycle of the product code including providing technical support for both internal and external consumers.

 

Required Qualifications

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information technology, engineering or related quantitative field.
  • 2+ years of experience in a Software Development role.
  • Proficiency with building RESTful APIs using Java, Go, NodeJS, Python or similar technology.
  • Familiarity with development using technologies such as HTML5, OpenUI5, React, JavaScript, CSS, Angular or similar.
  • Knowledge of database interactions in a transactional system using Postgres, MySQL, or similar relational database systems.
  • Understanding of version control and CI/CD concepts and knowledge of Git, Gradle, Jenkins or similar technology.
  • Ability to work independently and within a team.
  • Strong interpersonal, documentation, and problem-solving skills.
  • Equivalent combination of education, training and experience may be considered in place of the above qualifications.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with building docker containers and deployment into Kubernetes.
  • Experience with Agile methodologies in software development.
  • Experience with Linux operating systems.
  • Quick-learner, good team-work skills and willing to work in new areas.
