Nice to meet you!
We’re a leader in data and AI. Through our software and services, we inspire customers around the world to transform data into intelligence - and questions into answers.
We’re also a debt-free multi-billion-dollar organization on our path to IPO-readiness. If you're looking for a dynamic, fulfilling career coupled with flexibility and world-class employee experience, you'll find it here.
About the job
The Customer Advisory team is looking for an enthusiastic and proactive Sr. Presales Engineer who excels in creating and maintaining close partnerships with customers, to drive forward a shared goal of solving complex problems and create value (through the deployment of data and analytical solutions), promoting innovation and generating new business revenue. Our team is expanding the Public Sector Business Unit and are seeking a technical advisor with strong analytical skills, a curious mind and (ideally) previous experience of working in the Danish Public Sector and wider Nordic region.
As a Sr. Presales Engineer, you will:
- Be an advisor your clients, providing guidance on how public sector organisations can create business value and support their goals through the use of data and deployment of analytical solutions.
- Act as the primary technical contact between the client and SAS, translating client business needs to value-generating solutions based on SAS products (software and cloud) and associated services.
- Define and execute the technical strategy for government accounts, working independently from, but in alignment and close partnership with, the account executive and wider engagement team.
- Provide technical and pre-sales leadership to new business opportunities, engaging with technical and business audiences – defining and owning the technical engagement plan. Engagements will be with government organisations in Denmark, and potentially Sweden and Norway.
- Be responsible for dealing with complex customer situations using knowledge of industry standards, SAS solutions and the customer’s technology landscape to help deliver win-win outcomes for both the customer and SAS.
- Deliver a high-quality, high-impact customer experience and to demonstrate SAS’ value through presentations, discussions, bids and POC/POVs..
- Use domain (technical and industry) knowledge to create a compelling vision to influence all stakeholders in formal and informal meetings, adapting the material to suit the audience and using influencing and negotiation skills to overcome internal and external objections.
Required Qualifications
- Experience in driving software sales opportunities, both as technical lead and managing customer relationships. Looking for 5 years + pre-sales experience in software.
- Bachelor's degree, preferably in Business, Computer Science, or other quantitative field related to area of assignment.
- Equivalent combination of education, training and experience may be considered in place of the above qualifications.
- A driven individual, analytically minded who enjoys challenges and strives for excellence. Able to work proactively both individually or within a team.
- A story teller with strong verbal, written and presentation skills coupled with analytical and problem-solving abilities and comfortable working at both "C" level and with users.
- A broad mix of technical knowledge, understanding of enterprise architecture with knowledge of architecture standards. Ideally with experience in/around topics such as data management, AI, analytics, fraud detection and intelligence.
- A passion for AI and how it’s application can make the world a safer, healthier and fairer place.
- Willingness to travel to client site as required; skills to be hands-on if necessary in customer-facing situations; for example - facilitate workshops, gather requirements, and be comfortable delivering software demonstrations as needed.
- Fluent in Danish and English.
- You’re curious, passionate, authentic and accountable. These are our values and influence everything we do.
