About the job

We’re looking for a Cloud Engineer to for the SAS Cloud team in SAS’s Cloud and Information Services division, you will be responsible for all aspects of our data management systems in SAS Cloud.

 

As a Cloud Engineer, you will have a fantastic opportunity to join a growing organisation and have ownership and support of the engineering team within SAS Cloud. You will be responsible for a vital function with some Dev/Ops solutions and ETL aspects.

 

As a Cloud Engineer, you will:

  • Analyse current processes for client systems and support troubleshooting through runbooks.
  • Update/develop related procedures and documentation.
  • Multi-tasking in a hosting and production support driven environment.
  • Ability to diagnose and resolve problems in a timely fashion.
  • Work closely with another SAS Cloud teams.
  • Manage, monitor, and maintain container-based applications deployed in cloud container services.
  • Responsible for fixing and testing solutions for production issues in the SAS applications for each customer and verify that the customers are satisfied.
  • Configure, manage, monitor, and debug mid-tier software.

Additional responsibilities may include

  • Serve as technical escalation support other team members.
  • Contribute to overall service quality by identifying and /or improve the customer experience with SAS Cloud services.

Required Qualifications

 

  • At least 5 years of experience working as a software or Dev/Ops engineer.
  • Bachelor's degree preferably in Business, Computer Science, or related field.
  • Equivalent combination of education, training and experience may be considered in place of the above qualifications.
  • Proficiency in working on Unix/Linux.
  • Experience with Cloud providers (preferably Azure).
  • Familiarity with coding in Python or similar.
  • Experience testing, supporting, and automating jobs.
  • Experience working in the Dev/Ops function.
  • Solid understanding of ETL processes and tools.
  • Experience working with Kubernetes and Docker.
  • Familiarity with CI/CD tools and workflows
  • Fluency in both spoken and written English
