About the job

The Global Risk, Fraud & Compliance Solutions team is looking for a Sr Industry Consultant to collaborate with account teams to identify opportunities, articulate business and technical value, and prepare presentations and demonstrations for law enforcement and national security domains within the Health & Public Sector (“HPS+”) portfolio of solutions for the Risk Fraud & Compliance Division. Assists sales teams with solution sales activities to maximize revenue opportunities and ensure the highest levels of client satisfaction by utilizing knowledge of law enforcement, national security, and intelligence domains. Participates in and may lead the solution demonstration process, including configuration of solution capabilities, ingestion of structured and unstructured data, and creation of novel functions and techniques. Excellent public speaking skills both in small and large group settings. Possesses a strong knowledge of SAS products and HPS+ solutions, with a focus on law enforcement and national security. Ability to relate technical concepts to SAS applications and user needs. Uses strong problem-solving skills to outline a SAS solution to client needs.

 

As a Sr Industry Consultant - Law Enforcement & National Security, you will:

 

  • Builds a trusted relationship with client decision makers and influencers – as well as with Account Executives and Customer Advisory teams – to propose SAS products that address a client’s business needs related to law enforcement and national security, along with practical and theoretical guidance in the business value of the proposed HPS+ solution(s) to set proper expectations and ensure client satisfaction.
  • Strategizes with sales teams on objectives for client meetings, understands how this activity relates to the overall sales plan, and provides functional solution leadership for sales opportunities.
  • Leverages knowledge of law enforcement, national security, and intelligence domains and HPS+ solutions to build credibility in sales situations.
  • Delivers standard, customized and/or strategic, senior level solution demonstrations and presentations outlining the functional capabilities, competitive advantages and business benefits of the HPS+ solutions as they apply to client needs in the law enforcement and national security domains.
  • Conducts or participates in discovery meetings to collect, analyze, clarify, and document client requirements to support the implementation team and to produce a detailed solution proposal.
  • Contributes to scoping exercises and work effort resource plans created by SAS Professional Services teams and/or partner delivery teams. Conducts or participates in requirements gathering for Proofs of Value (POV) and/or implementation projects.

  • Ensures reliable delivery of targeted project results through role as expert in the application of specific HPS+ methodologies, projects, and solutions.

  • Provides solution demonstrations and business development support for law enforcement and national security opportunities at events, trade shows, and user group meetings.

  • Participates in product and solution training to acquire and maintain a detailed level of product/solution knowledge of core components of SAS offerings and assigned solution areas, how each HPS+ solution addresses business challenges, competitive information to identify how our solutions stand apart, and what challenges/limitations may be encountered.

  • Works proactively with Systems Engineers, Technical Architects, R&D Engineering, Product Management, SAS Partners and other Solutions Architects to strategize on opportunities, cross-training and knowledge transfer.

  • Configures HPS+ solutions and any required supporting products for knowledge sharing and demonstration purposes.

  • Participates actively in partner identification, development, & enablement, as well as partnered sales opportunities.

  • Assists in the response to RFI/RFP’s utilizing the RFP Repository and crafting thorough and compelling answers.

  • Maintains and develops relevant knowledge levels of technical and industry trends to identify impacts and opportunities created by these trends

  • Uses domain/industry/solution expertise to participate in and lead pre-sales activities. May also assist during implementation/design on a limited basis.

  • Assists the implementation team (either SAS PSD or delivery partner) during requirements/design/implementation steps of delivery
  • Participates in project estimation process
  • Liaises with sales, customer advisory, technical support, R&D, and product management to determine best action to implement HPS+ solution at client environment
  • Works in a minimum of three solution areas, to include law enforcement, national security, defense, customs, immigration, and/or procurement.

 

Required Qualifications

  • 12 years of experience of systems engineering, project management, applications development, technical architecture and design, and/or client support. Requires minimum of 5 years experience in working with SAS solutions and technologies in the law enforcement, national security, and/or defense domains.
  • Masters degree in Computer Science, Applied Mathematics, or related field. 
  • Demonstrated thought leader in a domain/industry (government, health care, and/or energy & utilities) and/or a solution (SAS Law Enforcement Intelligence, SAS Government Management, SAS Payment Integrity for Procurement, SAS Tax Compliance).
  • Strong facilitation and communications skills.
  • Possesses advanced knowledge of SAS technology, architecture and resources.
  • Clear understanding of sales strategies and cycles.
  • Good problem solving, organizational, decision-making written, oral and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaborate as part of a team
  • Travel as business requirements dictate at management discretion.
  • Maintains and works toward advanced knowledge and training in SAS solutions and third-party technologies
