About the job

We are seeking a TypeScript Developer with a strong backend focus and hands-on experience with N8N to join our engineering team. In this role, you’ll design and implement robust backend services, while playing a key part in building, extending, and maintaining N8N workflows and custom nodes that support our business automation processes.

This is an exciting opportunity for someone who enjoys working at the intersection of software engineering and automation, contributing directly to the scalability and agility of our systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and maintain backend services and APIs using TypeScript (e.g., Node.js, NestJS).
  • Experience creating reusable packages and internal SDKs in TypeScript.
  • Contribute to internal tooling and developer experience improvements related to automation and workflow management.
  • Build, extend, and maintain custom N8N nodes for internal services, third-party APIs, and business-specific logic.
  • Design and configure N8N workflows to automate complex processes and data integrations.
  • Write unit and integration tests for N8N nodes and backend services to ensure reliability and maintainability.
  • Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize N8N processes and backend systems in production environments.
  • Support and document best practices for working with N8N in the organization.
  • Collaborate with business and product stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into scalable automation solutions.

Required Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience working with JavaScript/TypeScript and Node.js, in either frontend or backend development roles, with a strong recent focus on backend systems.
  • Strong understanding of Node.js runtime, async programming, and REST API integrations.
  • Familiarity with authentication methods such as API keys, SAML, OAuth2, and JWT.
  • Experience with database systems (e.g., PostgreSQL, MongoDB) and data transformation tasks.
  • Comfort working in Git-based workflows and CI/CD environments.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate with technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with Vue.js, React or similar modern JavaScript frontend frameworks.
  • Proven experience developing and maintaining custom N8N nodes and building complex workflows.
  • Knowledge of workflow orchestration concepts and tools beyond N8N (e.g., Node-RED, Zapier, Temporal, Camunda).
  • Familiarity with containerization (e.g., Docker) Kubernetes and cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure).
  • Exposure to observability and logging tools to monitor automation flows and backend performance.
