About the job
The position is located at the Pune R&D Centre, within the SAS R&D Pune facility, specifically in the SAS9 team. We are seeking Software Developers for Viya 3.5 Platform software to perform builds creation, update the software bill of materials (i.e., third-party dependencies), validate security fixes, execute automated tests, and verify the installation/migration process and performance testing.
You will be joining a friendly team with a broad range of experience, to develop and maintain SAS 94/Viya 3.5 services and products.
Primary Responsibilities
- You will be deploying the builds on the test servers,
- Perform complex customer scenarios such as perform migration, upgrade in place etc.
- Deployment and Administration of databases (Oracle, Postgres)
- Maintain the automated build and deployment scripts.
- Changes to build scripts and create builds.
- Execute automated security tests.
- Work with customers and technical support for resolution of issues related to deployment, configurations etc.
- You will be delegating, monitoring with work to be done by associate developers and testers
- Validation and testing of multiple SAS Viya 3.5 services and products.
- Work with developers, technical support product managers in analysis of customer report issues and resolution.
- Demonstrate aptitude for problem solving and debugging of complex software systems.
- Design, implement, and maintain automated test frameworks, tools, and scripts that address specific needs.
- Design and implement test plans (cases, scenarios, usage).
- Identify risks, issues, potential defects, or defects in any phase of the project life cycle, managing them through closure.
- You will be mentoring associate testers to ensure the seamless development of the platform solutions.
Experience: 9+ Years
Experience of these items would be useful:
- Experience in Technical Leadership including estimation, scoping, delegation, monitoring and reporting for work.
- A minimum of 9+ years of experience build, installation, deployment, administration of enterprise software.
- Experience with DevOps Tools like Puppet, Chef, Ansible etc
- Experience of Gradle/Maven, Groovy.
- Working knowledge of Jenkins pipeline, GitHub Actions
- Good knowledge of Linux scripting Administration.
- Understanding of Software testing concepts, automated testing, CI/CD knowledge etc
- Good knowledge of Cloud concepts, AWS, Azure, GCP, Containerization etc.
- Expertise in Scripting with Python, Shell scripting and a flair for automation.
- Installation and administration of databases (Postgres, Oracle)
- Knowledge of Java programming language
- Systems knowledge including authorization, storage, networking etc in Linux
- Knowledge of Security Scans and tools such as Sync, ZAP etc
- Experience of working with Global Teams in a software engineering or customer support role.
- Use of AI Dev tool ( GitHub Copilot, Cursor, Claude code etc)
Mandatory Technical Skills
- A minimum of 9+ years of experience build, installation, deployment, administration of enterprise software.
