About the job

The Cloud Managed Services team is looking for a Sr Cloud Project Manager to responsible for all aspects of our data management systems implementations within SAS Cloud. You will coordinate all aspects of service & delivery offerings on implementation of SAS solution.  You will be responsible for all aspects of project management: the direction, planning and budgeting, coordination, implementation, execution, and completion of specific projects while ensuring consistency with SAS’ Cloud overall strategy, commitments, and goals.

 

You will be a customer liaison and consultant on projects to assure success throughout the entire customer life cycle. You will also interact with external clients/customers, staff, management, and applicable departments at SAS

 

In this position, you ensure the delivery of services projects are on track and opportunities or escalations are acted on. As overall project leader you are responsible for aligning the project scope with the strategic objectives and making recommendations for necessary strategic adjustments. You act as main advisor to the SAS management teams and develop and improve project processes and metrics that enable our internal teams to successfully implement new technologies and solutions

 

As a Sr Cloud Project Manager, you will: 

  • Demonstrate leadership in delivering SAS solutions and implementations to customers.
  • Own and manage either a single major or portfolio of differing projects across one or more accounts, and industry sectors.
  • Define statements of work and project charters, risk and mitigation assessments.
  • Lead and coordinate project planning, resourcing, staffing, supply and subcontract management, progress reporting, troubleshooting, and people management. Be planning multiple large and complex projects (agreeing realistic expectations of timeframes, costs, risks, resource requirements and deliverables with client). Develop a detailed project plan to monitor and track project progress.
  • Apply the best suitable Project Management methodology for the solution implementation and customer situation. Leverage methodologies, enablers and best practices to accelerate project delivery. Ensure quality assurance are developed for the project.
  • Assemble and coordinate project staff while managing resource availability and allocation.  Identify and match skills of project team members with the implementation requirements and tasks, including subcontractors if required, and verify that team members know and understand their assignments. Identify, document and escalate any performance issues and skills deficiencies of members of the project team to the appropriate management team.
  • Have full ownership of the success of projects, delivering solutions on time, within budget and profit and loss targets and in accordance with customers’ requirements for quality and functionality. Communicate and track regularly on the status of project goals by ensuring project results meet requirements regarding quality, reliability, schedule, and cost
  • Manage internal and external stakeholders through strong governance processes, appropriate expectation management, robust change management principles and implemented clear communication plans. Communicate the role of the project manager to the project team and client by outlining authority, decision and communications chains.
  • Provide leadership and drives customer success while overcoming barriers and satisfying staff, management and stakeholder commitments. Motivate the team through various and best suitable leadership styles.
  • Resolve any conflict between the project and other organizational units in a satisfactory manner, including engaging management as necessary. Design and facilitate internal and external workshops and meetings for optimized outcome. 
  • Ensure all applicable security policies and processes are followed to support the organization's secure software development goals.

 Required qualifications

  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in implementing complex software solutions in different companies.
  • Bachelor's degree preferably in Business, Marketing, or Computer Science
  • Experience with technical and business approaches and solutions related to general business intelligence/analytics/data integration/data warehousing.
  • Have great experience in traditional Project Management methodologies and are strong in agile methodologies to lead and coach both your team and the customer.
  • Gets motivated as project manager for both smaller projects as well as big and complex projects.
  • Have great and proven people management skills.
  • Ability to lead project teams, gain consensus and mediate conflict
  • Superior organizational and decision-making skills. Have superior stakeholder management skills
  • Have great experience in running projects with distributed teams both from own and customer organization with several different nationalities.
  • Have experience with Program Management
  • Ability to integrate knowledge and demonstrate competence across related business areas
  • Excellent analysis, negotiation, facilitation, and presentation skill.
  • Ability to present concepts and strategies in a way that influences adoption.
  • Ability to choose between defined financial, strategic, and tactical option.
  • Knowledge of Project Management Practice procedures and tools.
  • Excellent facilitation skills, including meeting content/agenda and proactive/creative management of issues. Strong leadership, project management, communication, and facilitation skills (including meeting content/agenda and proactive/creative management of issues).
  • Strong verbal, written, and presentation communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently; also, ability to be effective in diverse, virtual, cross-functional teams
  • Demonstrated ability to manage time and priorities across multiple, competing activities, and internal and external customers
  • Ability to travel when necessary
  • Right to work in the UK
  • Equivalent combination of related education, training and experience may be considered in place of the above qualifications.

  • SC Clearance preferred and possible but not essential
