About the job

As an ETL Operations Administrator in the Managed Application Services (MAS) team within SAS’s Cloud and Information Services (CIS) division, you will be responsible for our hosted and remote managed SAS application environments. You will work collaboratively with various SAS internal functions including Product Technical Support, Cloud Technical Leads, Cloud Service Delivery Managers, Project Managers and externally with end customers and vendors to drive customer satisfaction and ensure service quality across all customer environments. A keen eye for continuous improvement, quality, efficiency, and automation with a passion to drive it in all aspects of the job is required.

 

As an ETL Operations Administrator, you will:

  • Perform monitoring, scheduling, troubleshooting, and optimization of ETL jobs.
  • Administer and maintain ETL platforms and tools, ensuring availability and performance.
  • Provide pre- and post-implementation support and documentation for ETL deployments.
  • Diagnose, investigate, and resolve ETL job failures, performance bottlenecks, and data pipeline issues, ensuring proper reporting and documentation.
  • Support integration of ETL processes with SAS applications and third-party software.
  • Implement automation for routine ETL operational tasks (scheduling, monitoring, alerts).
  • Work directly with external customers, vendors and interface with SAS internal teams.

 

Required qualifications

  • 1+ years of ETL operations or data pipeline support in enterprise environments (mandate)
  • 1+ years of experience in systems support, user support, customer support and consulting.
  • 1+ years of experience with UNIX or Linux supporting enterprise class applications. (strongly preferred)
  • 1+ years of experience in Cloud implementation/migration projects.
  • Understanding of ITIL framework

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Hands-on experience with SAS Data Integration Studio, SAS Data Management, Viya Pipelines (preferred)
  • Experience with one or more additional ETL tools such IBM DataStage/Talend Data Integration/ Informatica PowerCenter/Airflow.
  • Familiarity with job scheduling and orchestration platforms.
  • Scripting skills (Python, bash, PowerShell, etc.) for automation
  • Exposure to Ansible, Kubernetes orchestration technologies.
  • Bachelor's degree in a quantitative field, preferably Computer Science, Information Technology or related field.

 

Additional Skills and Abilities:

  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills in ETL operations and Linux environments.
  • Good understanding of data integration concepts: staging, transformation, and data loading.
  • Knowledge of data quality, data lineage, and metadata management practices.
  • Ability to automate repetitive ETL operational tasks.
  • Excellent communication skills, including ability to work collaboratively with internal teams and external customers.
  • A mindset focused on continuous improvement, efficiency, and service quality.
  • Strong analytic, inductive, and deductive reasoning skills
  • Ability to quickly learn and apply new tools or features from documentation
  • Understands the interdependencies between multiple systems, architectures and software within a computing infrastructure
