About the job

The Global Manufacturing team is seeking a Senior Sales Manager to lead our rapid vertical growth at SAS Japan, partnering with leading manufacturers as they adopt AIdriven, connected manufacturing solutions across AI, IoT and cloudnative platforms. This role combines strategic selling with people leadership, offering the opportunity to build, coach and scale a highperforming field sales team.

As a Senior Sales Manager, you’ll lead complex sales engagements, develop our sales talent, and work closely with crossfunctional experts to help manufacturers solve their most pressing challenges — all while growing your leadership impact in a curious, highperforming environment.

 

As a Senior Sales Manager, you will:

 

  • Responsible for achievement of total software revenue target and management business objectives.
  • Provide leadership and direction across sales and salessupport activities to execute growth strategies for software, consulting services, and education services, and deliver consistent sales results.
  • Generate new business through strategic-based selling and managing relationships with key customers.
  • Assign appropriate sales goals and assignments to the team; determine optimal utilization of resources to achieve sales goals.
  • Partner with the sales management team to align and coordinate account strategies.
  • Work in conjunction with the Strategic Pricing Group to negotiate contracts and bids.
  • Responsible for timely and accurate forecasting (PTG) of software, consulting services, and education services.
  • Ensure team alignment toward BASE sales approach and utilization of Orion, Account Plans and Opportunity Plan development.
  • Ensure all applicable security policies and processes are followed to support the organization's secure software development goals.

Required qualifications

 

  • 12+ years of software sales experience, including a minimum of five years in a leadership capacity, with a demonstrated track record of building and leading teams to consistently achieve targets.
  • Experience working with leading manufacturers in Japan, bringing deep industry insight and market knowledge, is preferred.
  • Demonstrated success selling complex software solutions and services in a consultative, strategic sales environment.
  • Ability to analyze complex territory dynamics and develop actionable sales plans.
  • Excellent business acumen with the ability to align customer needs to value-driven solutions.
  • Strong leadership, coaching, and people-management skills.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and executive-level presentation skills.
  • Full proficiency in Japanese is required and business fluency in English is an advantage.
  • Bachelor's degree, preferably in Business, Marketing, MIS, or other relevant discipline.
  • Willingness and ability to travel as required.
  • Equivalent combination of related education, training and experience may be considered in place of the above qualifications.
