About the job

The APAC Consulting Team is seeking an experienced Project Manager to join SAS Taiwan, where you will lead complex, enterprise‑scale software implementation projects and help our customers achieve positive business outcomes. Serving as the primary liaison between SAS and our clients, you will take ownership of project delivery—setting direction, managing scope, resources, timelines, and budgets, and ensuring projects are executed efficiently from initiation through completion. You will also ensure that all engagements are delivered in line with SAS’s overall strategy, commitments, and quality standards.

 

As a Consulting Project Manager, you will be responsible for:

Project Management and Governance

  • Represent Consulting Team as the project leader at certain accounts. On occasion may be dedicated to a single key account. Lead project delivery for an assigned team of Consulting members and partners by:
    • Structure implementation approach for new opportunities, development strategy, staffing strategy (client, alliance partner, and SAS participation), and quantification of business benefits (ROI)
    • Manage stakeholders (external and internal) while delivering service engagements. This includes providing timely status updates, managing expectations, and maintaining the utmost customer satisfaction
    • Access, secure, and leverage appropriate resources (including the proposal process, staffing calls, triage and situation management, support, and partners) to ensure successful delivery.
    • Provide leadership and drive customer success while overcoming barriers and satisfying staff, management, and stakeholder commitments.
  • Ensure effective client project governance and activities are in place
    • Complete engagement/ project summary, project closeout procedures, and skills inventory updates at the end of the project.
    • Assure overall customer satisfaction through project health checks, surveys, and delivery excellence agreements
    • Direct project delivery including project progress tracking, change control, and the overall governance process.
    • Complete risk assessments for projects involving significant financial exposure, heavy subcontractor usage, or new solution implementations.

Financial Management

  • Assume full fiscal responsibility for assigned projects, including budget management, expense control, timely invoicing, receivables tracking, and subcontractor cost management. Achieve quarterly revenue and margin contribution goals across assigned portfolio.
  • Support the Consulting management team in forecasting revenue, costs, and project progress in a timely manner
  • Forecast revenue and resource requirements throughout the project lifecycle. 

Organizational/Practice Strategy

  • Contribute to industry / regional strategy across the organization, such as repeatable and reusable services approach, revenue growth, framework development, organizational requirements, staff development, etc.

 

Required qualifications

  • 5–8 years of project management experience, including experience leading applications development and/or software implementation projects. Hands‑on experience managing project teams and delivering multiple workstreams or deliverables concurrently.
  • Knowledge on Data Management, Analytics/ AI, Fraud/ Risk solutions is an advantage.
  • Exposure to the banking or financial services industry is preferred. 
  • Excellent facilitation skills, including meeting content/agenda and proactive/creative management of issues.
  • Strong problem-solving, organizational, written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Full proficiency in Mandarin Chinese is required for customer engagement, while business‑level English proficiency is preferred for collaboration with a global team.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is preferred.
  • Bachelor's degree or higher, preferably in Computer Engineer/ Science or quantitative field
