About the job

The Managed Cloud Services Life Sciences Offering team is looking for a Cloud Industry Lead to provide industry and technical expertise for our Life Sciences customer engagements running in our cloud. Our team is rapidly expanding, and you will have opportunities to collaborate with customers and colleagues across SAS to deliver outstanding service and ensure regulatory compliance for our life science cloud environments.

 

As a Cloud Industry Lead, you will:

 

  • Provides industry and solution expertise to support implementation of SAS Cloud solutions across the customer lifecycle (from contract signature through ongoing operations) 
  • ​Conducts requirements gathering, workshops, data discovery, analysis, reporting and presentation/demo sessions for customers to drive adoption of new platforms solution and expansion of the SAS Cloud footprint. 
  • ​Ensures customer environments adhere to industry regulations, SAS standards, and best practices. 
  • ​Implements business/industry requirements to improve system stability, monitoring awareness, and to decrease operational burden to ensure a positive customer experience. 
  • ​Works across internal and external teams to resolve risks, address obstacles, and ensure all applicable security policies and processes are followed to support the organization's secure software development goals.

Required qualifications

  • 5+ years of industry and/or technical experience including:
    • 2 years of experience in clinical trial analysis, consulting, systems support, customer support, or training for enterprise class software.
    • 2 years of experience with SAS, Java, and/or Python programming for supporting enterprise class applications.
  • Bachelor’s Degree, preferably in Business, Management Information Systems, or related discipline. 
  • Experience with Life Sciences industry and clinical trial analysis to support Cloud customers.
  • Proof of right to work in UK is required to be considered for the role
  • Equivalent combination of related education, training and experience may be considered in place of the above qualifications.

  • Business Savvy - Demonstrates a keen understanding of basic business operations and the organizational levers (systems, processes, departments, functions) that drive profitable growth; draws from personal experience to quickly evaluate business plans and processes to identify data or recommendations that need further investigation. 
  • Customer Focused- Ensuring that the internal or external customer’s perspective is a driving force behind strategic priorities, business decisions, organizational processes, and individual activities; crafting and implementing service practices that meet customers’ and own organization’s needs; promoting and operationalizing customer service as a value. 
  • Communication - Conveying information and ideas clearly and concisely to individuals or groups in an engaging manner that helps them understand and retain the message; listening actively to others.
  • Familiarity with cloud-based platforms like MS Azure, AWS or GCP
  • ​Ability to understand and translate complex technical and business information to internal/external audiences.
  • ​Knowledge of software validation, qualification, and acceptance testing practices within regulated environments.
