About the job

The SAS Cloud Managed Services team is looking for a Cloud Engineer to join the SAS Cloud team in SAS’s Cloud and Information Services division. You will be responsible for all aspects of our data management systems in SAS Cloud, with ownership and support of engineering functions including DevOps solutions and ETL aspects.

 

You'll work in a shift-based environment supporting international clients, managing multi-cloud infrastructure (Azure & AWS), Kubernetes clusters, and automation workflows while collaborating across global teams.

 

As a Cloud Engineer, you will:

 

  • Design, deploy, and maintain cloud infrastructure on Microsoft Azure and AWS
  • Manage, monitor, and maintain Kubernetes clusters and containerized applications
  • Perform Linux system administration and troubleshoot production issues
  • Develop and maintain automation scripts using Python and Bash
  • Configure, monitor, and maintain workflows using Apache Airflow
  • Use Datadog for monitoring system reliability and performance
  • Provide technical support to international clients with 24/7 shift coverage
  • Work with ServiceNow, Jira, and Confluence for incident management, task tracking, and documentation
  • Analyze processes, update runbooks, and contribute to service quality improvements
  • Serve as technical escalation support and collaborate with cross-functional SAS Cloud teams
  • Ensure security policies are followed and test production fixes for customer satisfaction
  • Ensure all applicable security policies and processes are followed to support the organization's secure software development goals.

Required qualifications

 

  • 5+ years experience as a Cloud/DevOps Engineer
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Business, or related field (or equivalent experience)
  • Proficiency in Unix/Linux administration
  • Hands-on experience with cloud platforms (Azure and AWS)
  • Strong Kubernetes and container orchestration skills
  • Proficiency in Python and Bash scripting
  • Experience with Apache Airflow or similar workflow tools
  • Familiarity with Datadog monitoring
  • Experience using ServiceNow, Jira, and Confluence
  • Proven ability to work independently and in teams
  • Comfortable with shift-based work supporting international clients
  • Proof of right to work in work location
  • Equivalent combination of related education, training and experience may be considered in place of the above qualifications.
