Business Development Deal Formation Office Engagement Manager, Asia Pacific
Role Overview
The Business Development Deal Formation Office (DFO) Engagement Manager, Asia Pacific plays a critical role in shaping competitive, compliant, and commercially sound consulting opportunities across the region. Partnering closely with Business Development, Delivery, Finance, Legal, and regional leadership, this role manages the commercial formation of deals from qualification through pricing, proposal development, approvals, contracting support, and handoff to delivery.
This is a high-impact role for a commercially minded professional who can balance regional market realities with global governance standards, while helping improve deal quality, proposal turnaround time, and win probability across Asia Pacific.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the end-to-end commercial formation of consulting opportunities across Asia Pacific, including qualification support, deal shaping, pricing, proposal development, approvals, and contracting coordination.
- Partner with Business Development Managers and consulting leaders to structure commercially sound, competitive, and compliant deals aligned to customer requirements and business objectives.
- Develop and review pricing models, deal assumptions, cost structures, and margin scenarios to support decision-making and protect profitability.
- Prepare high-quality proposals, statements of work, and supporting commercial documentation using approved templates, content libraries, and governance standards.
- Coordinate internal approvals and ensure adherence to commercial policies, risk management requirements, and contractual governance processes.
- Support a smooth transition from sales to delivery by ensuring deal documentation, assumptions, scope, and commercial commitments are clear and complete.
Stakeholder Collaboration
- Work cross-functionally with Business Development, Delivery, Finance, Legal, PMO, and Operations teams to align commercial strategy and execution.
- Provide insights to stakeholders on deal structure, pricing rationale, proposal strategy, and approval requirements.
- Navigate diverse market conditions, procurement environments, and customer expectations across Asia Pacific while maintaining consistency with company standards.
- Contribute to continuous improvement of tools, templates, workflows, and the use of automation and AI to improve speed, quality, and consistency.
Success Measures
- Improved quality, consistency, and timeliness of pricing and proposal submissions.
- Strong compliance with approval workflows, commercial governance, and risk management requirements.
- Commercially robust deal structures that support win probability while protecting margin.
- Effective collaboration across sales, delivery, and enabling functions to accelerate deal progression and support a successful delivery handoff.
Required Qualifications
- 5–7+ years of relevant experience in business development support, deal desk, commercial management, proposal management, consulting operations, or a related field.
- Demonstrated experience supporting consulting or professional services deals, including pricing, proposal development, commercial reviews, and approval processes.
- Strong commercial and financial acumen, including experience with pricing models, cost structures, margin management, and scenario analysis.
- Experience working with cross-functional stakeholders such as Business Development, Delivery, Finance, and Legal.
- Business fluency in English with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Relevant business degree or equivalent professional experience.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working across multiple Asia Pacific markets in a multi-country business environment.
- Knowledge of public sector, government, or regulated industry procurement environments.
- Familiarity with CPQ tools, approval workflows, and AI-enabled proposal or content management tools.
- Project management experience and the ability to manage multiple opportunities in parallel.
- Additional Asia Pacific language capability would be an advantage.
Work Location and Travel
- Hybrid or remote working arrangements may be available, with occasional travel for workshops, stakeholder meetings, and leadership reviews.
- This role supports the Asia Pacific region and may be based in a key regional location, subject to business needs
