About the job

The Risk Solution division is looking for a full stack Associate Software Developer to join our Risk Technology team where you will leverage your skills to design and develop re-usable software components used to build our Risk solutions.  Our solutions help banks and other financial institutions around the world quantify and manage financial risks in their organization.

 

This opportunity comes at an exciting time as we are building out cloud-native solutions to support our customers.

 

As an Associate Software Developer, you will:

  • Design and develop high quality, testable and scalable software solutions within established timelines while adhering to R&D best practices and processes.
  • Actively involve other project stakeholders (e.g. managers, developers, user interface and visual designers, product managers) to ensure implementation satisfies functional requirements
  • Participate in project scoping and scheduling; tracking progress of individual tasks and alerting stakeholders of issues blocking or preventing completion of tasks
  • Ensures quality by creating and supporting automated tests with extensive code coverage and participating in code reviews
  • Ensure all applicable security policies and processes are followed to support the organization's secure software development goals.

 Required qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, Engineering or related quantitative field.
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as Java, Go, Python or JavaScript
  • Familiarity with user interface development using technologies such as React, Angular, or similar.
  • Familiarity with server-side development – RESTful APIs, SQL databases, etc.
  • Understanding of version control and CI/CD concepts – knowledge of Git, Gradle, and/or GitHub workflows
  • Familiarity with Docker containers and Kubernetes
  • Strong interpersonal, documentation, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work independently or within a team
  • Proof of Right to work in the UK
  • An equivalent combination of related education, training and experience may be considered in place of the above qualifications.
